Facebook login problem(Google Chrome). Help?
It seems that I am unable to login to my Facebook account from Google Chrome. I can visit the “Welcome To Facebook” page but when I attempt to login, the following error message appears:
“This webpage is not available
The connection to www.facebook.com was interrupted.
Here are some suggestions:
Reload this webpage later.
Check your Internet connection. Restart any router, modem, or other network devices you may be using.
Add Google Chrome as a permitted program in your firewall’s or antivirus software’s settings. If it is already a permitted program, try deleting it from the list of permitted programs and adding it again.
If you use a proxy server, check your proxy settings or contact your network administrator to make sure the proxy server is working. If you don’t believe you should be using a proxy server, adjust your proxy settings: Go to the wrench menu > Options > Under the Hood > Change proxy settings… > LAN Settings and deselect the “Use a proxy server for your LAN” checkbox.
Error 101 (net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET): The connection was reset.”
If anyone can resolve this problem correctly, I’d be very thankful.
And thanks in advance.

The facebook log in page loads everything with the signup part too but then when I enter my password and email and click login it keeps saying connection reset. My internet is clearly working I can go on other webpages and I cleared my cookies and history but its still saying the connection has been reset -_-.

I am able to go on any other site just fine. And my firewall permits access..

I believe that facebook is down at the moment because all neighbors in my whole community of about 10,000 houses have been reporting problems. So I wouldn’t panic, there server may have crashed or it could have been taken down for repair.

Laura asks…
Why does facebook not load?
Why does my facebook page show “The connection has been reset” every time I try and open it? The list mentions that the site could possibly be blocked because it doesn’t even load. I have tried pasting facebook into google translator and I get to the login page, but once I try logging in, the “reset connection” page appears again. Is there any way I could access the site?
Actually, it has nothing to do with my connection, and google chrome shows exactly the same message. Facebook has been blocked by my administrator. Could I somehow override it?

~~If you are using Google Chrome, they just announced today they are now offering a permanent (currently Chrome was a beta browser).. I was having lots of problems with FB not responding today, and I received the notice from Google about the new faster, better browser. Since I downloaded, it’s been trouble free. Try updating to the new one, hopefully it will eliminate your error too.~~
